Jammu & Kashmir, the sixth largest state in India lies in the extreme North of the country & is bounded on three sides by China, Afghanistan, & Pakistan. The entire state is mountainous, broken by stretches of valley & dotted with mountain lakes. The state is studded with number of hill stations, which are refreshing cool in summer. Jammu is widely known as city of temples. It is an ancient city & was the seat of Dogra Dynasty for 100 years prior to 1947. It has also been the winter capital of the state of Jammu & Kashmir for a century & a half. The sacred Shrine of Shri VAISHNO DEVI & also the other ancient temples & shrines of Jammu region, draws thousands of pilgrims to them from all over the country as well as the world.
