Navi Mumbai is one of the biggest planned cities in the world. It is also known as the twin city of Mumbai and it covers an area of 344 sq kms. Formed in the recent past, Navi Mumbai is a young and vibrant city, which has a population of almost a million.
Navi Mumbai has been planned to ease the huge population pressure growing in Mumbai. City & Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra Limited has planned and developed Navi Mumbai with a strong infrastructure to support the projected growth in the region.
Navi Mumbai or New Bombay, is a self-sufficient metropolitan city, which is designed in such a way that all the settlements are well-connected. An effective Mass Transport System links Navi Mumbai to the important parts of the Greater Mumbai like Mumbai, Thane and the other adjacent parts. It is also taken care that all these residential areas do not fall short of the necessary social amenities like health, education, community services etc.
This well-planned city has its business hub, Central Business District (CBD), in the middle of the city keeping the residential blocks on the borders of the city. This helps in keeping the residential areas away from the hustle-bustle of CBD.
There are a number of projects coming up in Navi Mumbai in order to make its infrastructure stronger. International Convention Center, International Exhibition Center, International Super Malls, Hospitals and Nursing-homes, Golf Course, Sporting Complex and Hotels are being built. Navi Mumbai is famous for being the only Indian city, which does not have a single slum.

The Staff is Polite and Courteous. I had a very bad Headache I couldn't find medics as the Shops were Closed, but the help of staff, I Could get my Medicines. The Travel desk was also very helpful....
