Indore is a major city and commercial center of the state of Madhya Pradesh in central India. Indore is located 190 km west of state capital Bhopal. With a population of approximately 1.5 million, it is the 15th largest city in India and the 147th largest city in the world. It serves as the headquarters of both the Indore district and Indore division.
The commercial capital of Madhya Pradesh, with a bulk of its trade coming from small, mid and large scale manufacturing & service industries.
These industries range from automobile to pharmaceutical and from software to retail. Major industrial areas surrounding the city include the Pithampur Special Economic Zone and the Sanwer Industrial belt.
